Screens were designed and constructed for Artscape, Oxford Health NHS Foundation. Ilona Hay of Texere Studio worked with two groups of Oxford Brookes students to produce prototypes for the Whiteleaf Centre, Aylesbury. Screens were designed to meet patient needs for privacy and individuality, but also to meet medical community requirements. Where possible, natural and recycled materials were sourced. A willow Screen-Bench was designed as an intimate space to be placed in front of a fixed meeting room window. It would shield views, but allow light in. Treen (tree-screen) provides a simple system to allow patients to add their own plants to ‘tree’ frames. Recycled bottle planters allow individuals to influence their surroundings, and also provide additional privacy screening. The work was exhibited at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford
